Eat a little but often. Eat five portions of fruit and vegetables per day. Reduce your fat intake. Reduce your sugar content. Increase your fibre content. Reduce your salt intake. Eat freshly prepared foods, you know what they contain! Eat less processed foods.
OK this might upset some folks but here goes:
Give up smoking. Drink alcohol in moderation. Two units of alcohol per day is better than 14 units on one day - binge drinking is unhealthy. Try to keep tablet intake to an absolute minimum, let your body’s defences fight the battles.
Exercise does not have to be excessive and arduous. Just 20 minutes per day of simple, non-exhaustive exercise is all that it takes. Walk up and down stairs several times throughout the day. Walk to the shops instead of taking the car. Walk around the house a few times during the day. Go for a regular walk every day.
